Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Get a room folks! I don't think he's going to find what he's looking for on her back. Two outstanding images although I imagine its easy to capture them when they are preoccupied.

Amorous amphibians are such fun; they always look so intensely focused (usually on nothing in particular.) But I have to admit that I haven't seen very man amorous amphibians in my neck of the woods. Amorous isopods, yes...but that's a ramble for another post. I love the details and the real life oddness of this image. Well, the oddness is a human import. We make such a big deal out of...well...business as usual. This is wonderful!

What brand of fertilizer are you using in the garden?

texturally they look like finely braised chicken, with some soy or tamari sauce in the braising. Maybe frogs don't like the comparison, but I had to make it. But as living frogs, it's another amazing shot of frog-porn (I see Claude used that term too), and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure where the actual 'act' is---maybe they're preparing for it, or maybe the frog on top hasn't figured out that he's gonna have to make a sacrifice---either stay atop or slide the hell down. But then my knowledge of frog anatomy leaves a lot to be desired, so what do I know...Amazing shot of this intimate moment, and the light is really intense. It looks like a night shot w/ flash; and I like the other frog looking away, either as a guard or because he's thinking, "sh_t---they're at it again???" You get amazing finds in your environs, an amazing shot.
