Great contrast with the black / white and Gold in this image, excellent detail.....says a lot that such workmanship went into memorials as much as into inovations.....it's what made Britain Great......and why it isn't anymore..... :-(

So much symbolism in this photo, memorial. The lion makes me think of the last "Night At The Museum" film in which the lions around the Nelson column in Trafalgar Square come alive and play with each other under the influence of the Egyptian magic tablet. A sad time it is, when Britain isn't great anymore. When I hear the "Last Night of the Proms" concert, with all the fervour, I wonder whether Britain will become great again. An arrested muslim Imam in London revealed a master plan for taking over the UK, one city at a time, with forced introduction of sharia law on all English living in the UK (from a US web newspaper). High time the politicos wake up and stop betraying their people! Keep up the good work! :-)

Lovely close-up for those of us who haven't had the opportunity to visit London.

Shades of Androcles and the Lion in this terrific shot of Britain, long past, mate. Great POV, gorgeous memorials all. But what is with the sickle? Isn't that for farming?
