Description
A Canada Goose taking off from a rock it was perched on at Sisters Rock State Park. It was on its own, apparently separated from its flock. My grandson & I saw it land there some distance above us. We were headed in that direction & as we got closer, I told him to approach it slowly as I carefully set my camera up to take this shot. I was pretty happy with the result, as I haven't had much previous success with birds in flight.
Sisters Rock State Park is easy to miss - there's just a small unmarked pullout on the coast road & the sign with the park's name on it isn't visible from the road at all. But it's a very picturesque & unique spot that's worth looking for. It's about 13 miles north of Gold Beach...
