Gorgeous view, Klaus. Is this the same thing as a schrebergarten? (I saw some once in my mom's home town.)

Strictly speaking, these are no allotments (Schrebergärten) . Most gardens are privately owned or leased. No one has anything to do with the other. In contrast with allotments which are community gardens. The individual gardeners are usually organised in an allotment association and have to pay membership and have to abide by the corresponding constitution and by-laws. Here this is not so, everyone can do what he wants in his garden.
