Description

I have taken very few photos recently what with one thing and another, as the saying goes. So here is another of one of my favourite flies: I only learned this week that it is a specialist pollinator of Primroses, hence that long proboscis. Here is a pic of it in action that I took last year Beefly on Primrose

I only ever saw one of these in the Russia dock woodland In Rotherhithe, it was a brief encounter too, it flew righ past me and settles on a wall, suffice it to say it buggered off when i wanted to capture it :) Great shots here Andrea.

I'm still reading it as Beefy. Come to think of it, it is rather beefy. The one on the flower is even better. Superb close ups. I am in awe with your ability to capture them.
