Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Beautiful image. I like the color highlights throughout. I see faces here as well. Lower right, a turtle. Lower left, a something else. Upper right, a gremlin. And in the center is definitely a bird of some sort. Another example of Nature the Designer.

Very nice wallpaper.

Awesome work as always Andrea. The beautiful soft colors and dark outlines are so attractive with the white background. Like wisiwig my imagination is working overtime, there is so many images in this wallpaper indeed. Butterflies, Fairies a Birdhouse and smiling Miss Cricket.

I wanted to skip backwards again, to get some more of your earlier work. When this went up, I thought of prints on various Japanese papers. The background has the texture of those beautifully made papers, sometimes with other materials blended into the pulp. The filtered branches are spindly and delicate, and the overall feel is almost of the veins and inner organs of a living creature. But they're also flowers and branches; and in this setting they make a splendid abstract. Very sensitively done, Andrea. The colors work beautifully too.
