Description
This photo was taken on the same visit to the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, that I took my previous posting of the TriColored Heron. This Snowy Egret was checking her 2 pale blue eggs. I apologize that the direct sunlight washed out the colors and details. She is about 24 inches (61 cm) long and with a wingspan of 41 inches (104 cm). Her plumes are unique to Snowy Egrets. I hope to photograph the chicks on my next visit. She will zoom.

This is a real eye catcher with its gorgeous feathers, my friend. You can be proud of this photo, Dana, as is is to special, also with the subtle colors on his eye and beak, as I love to see that cute feather on it's head, plus the eggs, WOW!

I almost thought this was the bird that has been called 'lyrebird'. Real lovely plumage. Hope her two young grow up safely into two happy adult egrets. :)
