Description
The Black-Crested Titmouse was once considered a subspecies of the Tufted Titmouse. But it was designated a species in 2002. Its range is a narrow northerly/southerly band that runs from northern Texas down into Mexico.
I don't see the Tufted Titmouse anymore since I live in a different area, and don't often see these black-crested cuties as they are skittish and fast, flitting quickly from branch to branch and tree to tree. It was a nice surprise to see two of them come to my feeders.
Better detail in zoom view. Thanks very kindly for your recent views and comments.

Excellent portrait of the elegant little Black-Crested Titmouse, Maria, a species I've never seen, or even heard of before. A zoom is a must in this instance.
