Description

A closer look at some of the wildflowers of Texas. We arrived in Albuquerque this afternoon. So far our trip home has been uneventful, which is good! :) We expect to be on the road for several more days, and are looking forward to being back in Washington State.

There is nothing so beautiful as a field in spring bloom.

A beautiful and well composited image. The line of paintbrush leads right into the bluebonnets.

So very fresh and bright. I can just imagine how much you are enjoying this trip. I love wildflower meadows. I just don't live in the right place now. Thanks for another dose of spring

Gorgeous flowers--we were just IN Washington!! Not close to Seattle, though, in Long Beach, across the river from Astoria. Any chance you're gonna be coming this way on your way home?

Such a striking combination! Our spring flowers are mainly yellow at this time, and pink and white overhead.

I've always loved the Texas Bluebonnets but add the red flowers and they look spectacular.

This is so lovely, Tara - what a wonderful photo! Glad to see you're on the way home to Washington. I'm sure you'll get some lovely photos on the way! I would really love to find a big field of wildflowers somewhere - I'd love to do a sweeping flyover of one with all the beautiful colors.

When you posted this, I thought "I hope people see this full view," and I see that about 2/3 have. Which is good. There's something print-like about it, a certain simplification of the surfaces, maybe softening a little, I don't know what it is; but the flowers stand out more, as a result. They have a beautiful soft 'cutout' feeling, to me. And as they slope over the grasses, they feel like delicate scarves strewn across the grasses, for decoration. I like the slope, and the mix of focus and non-focus...A very sweet, delicate capture, and very fresh, and also like a delicate print. More fine work with these flower-fields from you, Tara.
