Description
NarieFah was in the tower when she heard something approaching and it was close. No sleep for three days had dulled her senses, but she was nevertheless upset with herself. "I'm getting careless," she thought. "This intruder should not have gone unnoticed until now!" She slipped down the steps of the tower and silently moved to the far side, it was still approaching.
Very carefully she moved around the edge to get a look. When she saw it was a Dragon Archer her relief was so great that she just sprang from her hiding place and ran up to her. Then without any introduction she started saying in a rush, "Dragon Archer, I'm so glad you came, I was so afraid I would have to try and stop the Orcs alone."
The Dragon Archer Caleya was startled but amused by this unusual greeting. Then after seeing how young NarieFah was she said in a kind voice, "Steady yourself child and tell me your name?"
NarieFah, not liking being called a child, gave Caleya a formal introduction. "Esteemed Dragon Archer, I am Narie of the house of Fah, and Elven Scout. I am at your service."
Caleya replied "Greetings NarieFah, I am Caleya. But there is no need to be so formal in the wilderness. So then, you are the one that sent the Great Eagle. It is rare for those creatures to play the role of simple messenger."
NarieFah tried to quickly explain her adventure in the northern wilderness and then she said, "Caleya, I was so horrified when I discovered the Orcs. I did not know what to do and I sought guidance from our ancestors. They must have sent the Great Eagle friend for it just appeared out of the sky. Then It offered to carry the message about the Orcs for me and find help."
Caleya was impressed by all this and said: "That is quite an adventure for one so young. I believe it is not over yet and I am honored I will share some of it with you. I want to hear more about this vision, but it will soon be dark and I think you have been living off the wilderness too long. I have brought good provisions, elven nut cakes, fruits and sweet water. NarieFah was suddenly very hungry, her provisions had run out a long time ago.
They took shelter in the fallen tower and Calyea laid out what seemed like a feast. They ate and NarieFah was happy to tell someone about her adventure. Caleya was very interested in her account and asked many questions about the dragon remains and the vision. They had been talking for hours when NarieFah finally told Caleya about the stone that came from the dragon. She, of course, did not know it was a dragon egg and by then she was so sleepy she didn't make the effort to show it to her. Caleya could see how tired NarieFah was getting and said, We should rest for tomorrow. I will take the first watch so you can sleep." NarieFah was very grateful and said "Thank you Caleya I can not stay awake any longer." NarieFah was happy and felt safe now that Caleya was with her. She curled up next to Caleya and was soon asleep.
Caleya sat there stroking NarieFah's hair and she remembered how that would comfort Taianna after a bad dream. That was the first good memory she had of Taianna in a very long time.

Yes, the landscape terrain is large enough that I can creating the scenes in different areas, lighting is also the same for the most part. This helps keeps the images looking the same for the series and it has been a time saver (after creating the initial terrain). Thank you for your comments!

The moment just before the encounter and the start of a frienship to protect the realm... and the egg. But this, they don't know, even if in the future Caleya probably can say the true on the "stone" to NarieFah. And now, Orcs have 2 great warriors against them ^^ Yeah, sometimes we make bad move and comments don't come. Not a problem. Have a good day!

One thing I like about this series is how you illustrate rather unexpected moments in the even unfolding. It would have been more obvious, at least for me, to illustrate when NarieFah first stands face to face with Caleya because you could have used the dramatic expressions of breathless and surprise. Instead you illustrate a moment of tension as NarieFah catches herself and waits in anticipation. As always, your landscape work is impeccable. One is left to wonder how the two will deal with their different visions and values of dragons. I am confident that the egg will be protected but not without trial and trepidation.
