Do you ever sleep? I mean it, your work is titanic in its detail and labor. Your "Art of Boolean" work never fails to make my jaw drop and my mouse fingers ache out of sympathy. Great, great work, never stop.

You have more patience than I do! If I can't get something up and running in 20 minutes I say "stuff it" and use postwork! Excellent modelling. Oh, and you can remove the shadow problem by turning off "receive shadows" (mat lab / material options) but just on the 2D backdrop. That way, you won't need to mess up the shadows on your objects. You may as well turn off "cast shadows" and "self shadows" on the 2D backdrop whilst you're at it, as it will speed up the render a little.
