I really like the way the red/orange frames compliment the blue roof tiles. It looks like a fun place to photograph. :)

we studied the reasons for these high turrets, but frankly I don't remember most of them anymore. They sometimes served a religious purpose, to elevate a cross well above human activity (and let it touch 'heaven'). High roofs also deflected water in an advantageous way. But there were other reasons, which I just don't remember. But visually they can be gloriously strange and distended, and quite outrageous and exciting. Like a huge merlin's hat, this turret soars above the window, a big royal hat for it; and the windows below stand out because of the red, and also the beautiful lattice work (I assume iron) of the windows themselves. A very interesting composition because you have the beginning of another ascending roof line, on the left, and a tall chimney in between---a contrapuntal combination (visual counterpoint). And a slice of sky in the upper left corner, as contrast to the rest due to its clearness. I like how you're including the upper portion of the next layer beneath, as 'ground' to a shot: It's a good framing element, even though, in real life, it leads to a structure below it. The high crop is right for the subject, too. A very full, active shot, with more fine detail (incl the decay, which is so alive by itself).

It looks magical, and I absolutely adore your composition in this shot. What a captivating building! Well done!

I have always liked corner turret rooms and I don't know why. Nice shot!
