Description
A section of the gardens at the Chateau de Villandry. This is another chateau that I have posted photos of previously - I just have a few others that I thought might be worth a look.
My title is taken from the Lewis Carroll poem "The Walrus And The Carpenter", which appeared in "Through The Looking-Glass":
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
Please zoom.

What a beautiful set up, looks like it is well taken care of indeed !

an apt title, and a fascinating capture, a composition like a maze, leading to a long near-faceless building in the back. The building is part of the chateau, I assume, though it looks like a long stable...The luminous greens, yellows and reds make this almost an abstract. The open paths are a sweet contrast (with far less color contrast in them---though you brought out a lot of texture, which I like). This is the kind of shot that could be stretched at great lengths, and still be fascinating (if there were that much garden). A high contrast, high energy shot, with nuclear energies in it. Very vivid, Claude. And the red at bottom provides a nice eye-grabbing frame.

Interesting how they have planted veggies among the formal looking hedges. Those are very nice looking cabbages.

I quote that all the time, one of my favourite pieces. Actually growing up we had a record of "Alice in Wonderland", and played it over and over and over. I never knew who made it, or what orchestra played on it, although I can see the cover in my mind's eye. I'd love to find it again! Your shot of this formal kitchen garden is wonderful, with fascinating colour and textures. I imagine it's easy to harvest in a setup like this.

I like that title and reference for this photo. Huge cabbages!
