Description
Finely crafted ironwork that I found on the door of a church in the beautiful town of Brantome, which is located in the Dordogne in southwestern France.
I've been very busy lately (we're selling our current home & buying a new one), so haven't had much time to browse the galleries - hope to get caught up soon...
Please zoom.

Well spotted, my friend. Nice craftwork, but does not look that old, just 'distressed', and the wood looks quite new. Still impressive and striking. Thanks for sharing your find. Kind regards, John.

I love this metalwork, and what a super shot! Crisp and clear, and very well done!

a fine capture of metalwork. We can see the individual strands, the buds, the leaves, etc. And of course it shows the attention to detail given these older metalworks. (Today, this would cost a fortune, which is why not many people commission such work.) I also like the gradual morph to a deep orange, as we move from right to left. It has an introspective feel. Fine capture of a door and its ornamentation. This whole series has been a revelation, and fun, and eye opening, and a feast.

A must zoom not only for the ironwork but the textures of the old woodwork!
