Looks like you set fire to the poor thing. You can tell the naysayers that no tulips were harmed in the making of this image. I love both of the pictures. Gorgeous tulip and psychedelic fiddle (let me take you down 'cause I'm going to...Strawberry Fields).

A bit radical for my tastes, but I wouldn't say I hate it, you took the time to develop a piece of art, and I appreciate that. Love the original, a great colour.

No doubt that some tulip grower will look at this and decide to grow a tulip just this way. Wonderful and vibrant work

LOL I love it that you are having fun creating art and do not care what anyone else says about it. I also enjoy this digifiddle. I would probably name it Flame Dancer. :) Thanks for sharing your creativity.

Lol, I saw this when it went up, and I loved when you wrote "so tough!" The tulip studied Method Acting and wants to get the "Essence of my character," he wants you to penetrate, go deep! This is terrific. Your straight photo is beautiful, btw, a really stunning capture of the many shades of purple and its striated textures; as well as your inimitable treatment of the background---ie, postworking the background while you leave the main subject alone. It's beautiful. But we can see the same flower from many different angles, and this one bursts like an infra-red capture of a galactic explosion. It's as much about "flowers" as the other one. (Ask Georgia O'Keeffe how she feels about it...she saw the cosmos in a flower...) The greens are amazing contrasts with those reds. And the yellows have a chrome-like feel. And I love the flat-hued postwork of the background. This is a spectacle, and I say do whatever you want with flowers---you've done so much service to them, you can zoom and uncover their nuclear essences, and they'll be grateful for the truthfulness. Love the piece! (And I think there's a guy in the center, jumping for joy. See him? He may need a doctor for a skin rash, but he's there!) Terrific.

I do like the natural version (because of the purple color) but also a big WOW for the digifiddled version. And I am so glad that you enjoyed playing with it!
