Description

Once again, it appears my yard will be demonstrating the very direct nature of life. There were two tiny, TINY, chicks like this on my patio in the sun Sunday morning. Neither of these was even developed enough to have actually hatched yet, though I saw no sign of shell anywhere. I do not know if a nest was robbed or if they were considered nonviable by parents. It's difficult to comprehend how tiny these were. I took shots with a dime for context but even there, the overall scale is difficult to convey. There was also a Robin's egg cracked on the patio, Saturday. Just a whole lot of in-your-face evidence of nature's abrupt treatment at times.
