Description
I was inundated today, so couldn't get to your galleries (sorry!)
But I promise will in the morning.
Everyone: Thank you for your support of my work of late: I've been feeling my creativity wane, but your openness to the 'good' in what I'm doing has really helped me stay with it. (Most of my recent photo-uploads are 2 years old---to give you an idea---only the postwork is current.)
You've helped me keep creating: I appreciate that deeply.
* * *
In 2000 I started a series of "fabric" paintings.
This is from 2003---it's just a 'sheet', but I hope it's enjoyable. (It's a little pale...)

One more pic after this
Take care, everyone,

Through a looking glass darkly. What lies beyond the curtain? Love the mystery in this, emphasized by the patterns of black swathes, as they spread angularly across the image, obscuring what is apparently a photo of one or two individuals. Kind of reminds me of the mosquito netting we had around our cots when in the Army overseas in the south Pacific.

Pale, but not the dreaded beige. This is a spring fabric for parts of the world where the sun is rarely intense, and folk don't want to startle their friends! I must make some photos if my scarf collection, you will not be surprised to learn I do not own a single piece of Burberry plaid.

Beautiful image, leads me to imagine a world that can or could be behind !!!!

Dreaded beige--I love that phrase. Andrea should've seen the beige couple I saw a ways back. Whew, they were dressed head to toe in tan and beige and taupe; they nearly disappeared into themselves!! But back to your image, omg, where can I buy yards and yards of it? I used to sew a LOT and boy, this is a piece I would've grabbed and made a blouse from. It's soft and gentle and I can see it in chiffon or silk; it would just sway as you walked, waft in the wind and feel SO good!!

Mark, let me just say that I instantly fell in love with this style of art you call Fabric Painting and do hope you will share more with us when time permits. The soft colors and tones make this a pleasure to view and the image literally appears to flow from the screen. Sorry to hear that you're creativity had started to wane a bit as of late and do hope it returns soon as we need you in the gallery.

This lovely fabric art makes me think about Indian silk. I can imagine a indian lady wearing this. It is so beautiful and I love how you made it look like real fabric with the shadows in the right places. A really fine piece. :)

This is truly lovely; I'd love to have sheets like this (actually I used to have something quite similar, but not so artistic; stuck with what the stores will stock, you know). Your range of colours is very fulfilling!

So creative. You have given an ordinary sheet extraordinary beauty in the soft pastel tones, silkiness and shadows. Fabric has always fascinated me.
