(ok, this is just idiocy...I was too tired to do a thing, so I took my mouse and drew this "audience". The 'film' is an upload from wayyyy back. It's just silliness, but I had to post it. Thanks again, and I'll see you tomorrow!) (please zoom to see the 'crowd')

Hey, do you mean that I finally got to be the first to comment vis-a-vis your nonpareil artwork? LOL. With my luck, Denise or Chipkia will probably beat me to it on this one. Anyway, tired as you were, you still managed to create some doggone good art in this rendering of a theater full of star-stuck viewers enjoying the scene of some dude snoozing away, with a pooch playing Kilroy Was Here behind the bed. There are a few customers looking back at us, either to see who we are, or the result of being bored by the whole thing, or maybe this is just an anomaly. All in all, a splendid bit of doodling under less than cool conditions.

Brilliant! I love it! I wonder what they nibble instead of popcorn. And whether they have noisy wrappers around some edibles, that ruins the quiet bits. And whether there is some know it all, seen it before, spoiler who tells what happens next in a too clear voice which can still be heard over the outrageously loud soundtrack. Amazing how your wonderfully funny doodle has made me reveal my dislike of modern cinema going! Thank goodness for DVDs .

Oh this is just TOOO funny!!! I wonder if the soundtrack is "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window"? lol
oddment
I think the dog on-screen is wondering why there's a cat in the audience... that hasn't been eaten yet. Must be one tough alley-cat.

Mark, this adorable presentation certainly did bring a smile to my face and make my day a bit brighter. That looks to be a fun film they are enjoying and I love the audience that you created with your mouse.

I'm with oddment - I was wondering how that one cat managed to sneak in there & not get attacked by the canines. I could easily see this cartoon gracing the pages of the New Yorker - it has that wonderful light & whimsical quality that their cartoons are known for...

HEHEHE! This is too funny and I love the audience. Seems we are sitting in the back seat of the drive in. Only two have seen us yet and nobody has dicovered the cat to the left, but us and we are not doggies. Hope he can get out of there before the film is over. ;-) Do I love this cartoon? YES :D

This is brilliant! I want to see that film now; I get the feeling it's a screwball comedy that rivals "On the Town" which is one of my favorite screwball musicals. There's so much to adore in this, and it looks like there's a film critic in there (cats are excellent film critics, by the way if a cat actually sits through a movie, then it's a riveting, complicated, wholly-engaging film: a master-work of cinema...either that or a Russ Meyer film, but then Russ Meyer is an under-appreciated master of cinema. "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" has a permanent niche in my shrine of absolutely brilliant cinematic experiences, but then any film with the words "wanton, rapacious hunger" in its narration is bound to hold my attention.) So anyway, yeah...this is brilliant! Your doggie doodles are endlessly entertaining and often filled with all kinds of details that are both adorable and hilarious. I'm also wondering about the soundtrack to the movie in question, for some reason I get the impression that the soundtrack sounds like something by Elmer Bernstein in whimsical mode: he did that so brilliantly! This is brilliant, too! It has brightened my week!

... almost in the footsteps of Chip, (love his 'cat-critic' term) this is hilarious ! - and far from idiocy, one can always put ones own dialogue to it - here we go ... First of all I would have taken a red pencil (like you do, when reading the Sunday paper!) and coloured his nose (it's a good size for a Red Wine drinker!), then added a thought bubble (with lot's of Zz's) ... of course you can hear the whimpering sound of the 'Little Pooch' (obviously[!] too short - to leap onto the Masters feather bed) ... next comes the dialogue from the centre, back-row topdog (lifting his ear, who also obviously [2nd time !!] lost his hearing aid) saying to his mate on the left: " whaaat did he just say ? " " oh, nothing much - just snoring his head off, obviously [for the 3rd !!! time] too much booze the night before! " ... It's going to be a long day before 'Little Pooch' get's his breakfast this morning ... there you go Mark, ~THE END~ now, don't let those turkeys get you, there is no such thing, as in: 'the muse has left me' ... your creations are very rich and colourful, and you've got the courage to carry it off - I don't know how you do it ? I wish I had only half it - but I am too shy to try and your 'doggie/cat' cartoon capers are a lot of fun, which leave the dear reader with a lot of imagination to wrestle with, but always leaves them asking for more ... and last but not least, your photography and occasional manipulations are second to none ... I love this...absolutely perfect, not idiotic at all, very full of truth in filmgoing. You sell yourself way short sometimes!

This is hilarious. If there's one thing I know, dogs really love watching other dogs. And there's even a cat in there enjoying the show. This made me laugh because I have awakened more than once to find my dog sitting next to me just staring at me. Was I snoring that loud???
