This is the Durbar square in the old city centre of Kathmandu, on a peaceful and sunny afternoon, in the month of April....years before the earthquake and devastation we've heard of lately...
The splendor and the fabulous ancient temples and Durbar squares of Bhaktapur and Patan, the former capital cities of Nepal, were also hit by the earthquake and are now a gigantic mess of debris. This being said, people in Nepal need basic supplies and they need them ...now.
Thank you very much for your comments on my last photo of the Bodnath stupa of Kathmandu.

Une photo superbe ! Il est dommage en effet que tout ait été dévasté, mais toutes les civilisations finissent par disparaître un jour pour être remplacées par d'autres. Reste le souvenir que tu as si bien immortalisé.

Real fascinating architecture. A unique addition to all the architectural styles of the world's different cultures! I really do hope all that fascinating temple architecture would still be there. It would be terrible if it got destroyed by any natural disasters. Then again, as Buddhism teaches, impermanence is a characteristic of all conditioned existence...

Thank you for your comment that makes real sense and reminds us that impermanence is the only thing that rules this world actually.
