Description

This Cathar castle, high on a mountaintop, is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. We were there in October & the fall colors were very vivid. Next post, coming right up, is a closer view of the castle...

I think I have seen this place long time past -- about the 80ties... :-) was not a photographer at that time.. I am just a little jealous now... sorry - wonderful series !

Clever composition, great contrast in colour. I'm so pleased to see thi shot, having read much about the Cathars and haven't given up hope of visiting the region. I'll try to keep viewing!

I have to say I really love being able to travel vicariously through your great photos. I am adding this place to my bucket list. In a couple of weeks I get to visit Paris with my sister who will be here to visit me in the Netherlands. We will only have a couple of days there so I will not get to this area during my visit to France, but I would love to see it in the future on a more extended trip.
