Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wow totally amazing what you get to see daily. Awesome collection of photos, each one has carries it's own gorgeous and beautiful characteristics. Ditto: Really looks like a magazine cover for the "Homes and Gardens" collection. Thanks Andrea !

Your garden is really a botanical wonderland, beautifully captured again. Query...do you work it alone?

It is just me, except for the tree surgeon who does the hedges, three of the four boundaries are mine! I also about once a year have help with something heavy, like digging out a bamboo clump. But this is likely to become more frequent soon as I age.

Looking so beautiful & colourful.

Stunning as always. It made me think of the Garden Song (Inch by Inch). Perhaps you've heard of it. First sung by Pete Seeger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u90qRE2F7CM I'm convinced this oasis you have created and maintained is one of the things that keeps you going. All I have is a little barren strip bordering my patio but I think this will be the year when I plant something.

Looking magical in every corner! Wow!!!

As many of these wonderful monthly garden montages I have seen from your garden this is the first where I am realizing how large your yard actually is. The photo with the long view of the path and the central photo have given me a better idea of the scope of your yard. What a lovely paradise you have created.

Wow! Spring in all its glory! There are parks and arboretums that are not nearly this lovely! A lot of work and a beautiful yard to be proud of!

As ever, your Utopian world impresses.

Most lovely Berberis darwinii in this month's delightful garden montage. So beautiful all around but I couldn't find any of your furbabies in any of your fantastic photos!

The fact that you do this every month is amazing. I think about doing it, and then I don't!! I just spent a whole week just cleaning up my yard and am still not done. Just the raspberry patch is left but then the lawn will need mowing again!! Oh yeah, have a few flowers to get in the ground too, oh yeah, gotta clean up the dang nettles too, and well, there's ALWAYS something!! But isn't it fun??!!!!

With some others here, I marvel at the work you put into your garden, and what beautiful results you get. (Not to mention the fact that you know every name, Latin or otherwise. I studied enough Latin years back to make names up, and I'd DO it, but you and a handful of others would correct me---so no chance there. Ah well...) Beautiful array of shots, and so lush, both in the center "all together" shot, as well as the individual shots. The shots of your pathway and the lower left corner, look so lush---it must be great to just walk out there and sit. Your monthly garden shots have always been a treat, and this is budding and rich. Real beauty, Andrea.
