How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are? ~Satchel Paige A masterwork! Time moves inexorably forward, even when the clock has no hands. A happy May Day to you, Nikolay.

Masterful! The clock face repeated creates a mood, and the light as well.

Ditto all the superlatives above. You've done it again, to me: You've made me think of all the things I miss with the camera and in postwork. It's almost as if you did this on silk (the texture of the shot); and you handle light masterfully. It's both an old precious artifact as well as a fresh-done re-interpretation of this space...the solace, loneliness and exquisite intimacy of this space. The lamp is beautiful there; the clock (in its original place) is a 'rooting' presence, the big---what? I guess neck strap or shoulder strap, for a bag maybe, or for a camera bag?---is mysterious and perfect, not only in its fine-lined texture but in its grays and blacks and whites. And the rest of the objects are like etchings into reality, like they were etched into the very air. And the big clock in the background just sets is all off. Grounds us in indeterminate time. You're a master of texture and light, of finding infinity in intimate spaces, and of finding hidden meanings in the everyday objects of life. This is masterful. Tremendous work, Nikolay. It's just masterful.

Our time (in human terms) which has no hands as observed here and could really be the case, compared to the time of the whole Universe ... Our few seconds here on Earth - compared to billion of years of that big creation - pales into insignificance. But there is no paleness about your creation here, Nikolay - it is a gentle reminder of the little things in life, we love and which mean something to us, and they all have a story attached - thanks for sharing it with us ... nothing wasted at all ... BB
