To be honest, when I saw the thumbnail I thought she's gone splatter mad ;) But the full size is exquisite and I'm too old for too much stimulation. ;-))) This is a work of art - skill.

...and we can feel how this was a burst of inner light, unencumbered, in that needed break from your client work...'unencumbered' not because you've put a lesser light into the other work, but because here you don't have to shape and prune and intuit others' needs and adjust and dance delicately and all the other things you have do to fulfill assignments...here you dance on the clouds. I've seen plenty of your cosmic flowers, but this one really does have all the chakric elements in it, the full rainbow; and they rush through this flower like a tidal wave of inner energies. And you've rendered the poppy almost into taffeta, or silk, and at the same time like rare crystals reflecting and refracting wildly, as if it had the ability to take in 'simple light' and give back a vast spectrum. The base of the flower is a huge tassel, undulating in the wind; and the top of the image is the 'local cosmos' blasting-out in total harmony with the poppy---the way I see it, it was so taken by the poppy's light, it dropped its cosmic "activities" (making light, splitting atoms, surging through space, cleaning cosmic dishes, sweeping cosmic floors, etc), and said, "Look at that FLOWER," and it just got up and danced...And the bottom is like a big lit gorge, plunging into deep greens, blues, and purples. And your butterflies are transparent, melding into everything like the most delicate lace. Boy, if this is one of your 'breaks', I don't wanna be around when you take off a month...Beautiful! And you know what? It feels 'spontaneous': I mean all your work does, mind you, but this feels like you stopped working, turned around, and it came out in a 'whoosh', because it was all inside you, waiting, and all you had to do was "let it out". (And, like a pet who'd been inside all week, it bounded out of you and filled up the whole sky.) (I know it may not have been that fast---I know beautiful art takes time---but it FEELS that way, and it feels grand.) Terrific way to end my evening. If you put a few of these into your client work, they may send you a rebate for allowing them to turn off their light bulbs for a month. This could light a small town...Beautiful work, Carol.

Mark, I have to say I've been in a rather dark place where I sometimes go to 'create art for clients', and often there is very little light, especially when working through so many nights. Far too much fretting and frowning. But your comment brought a big bright smile, and several belly laughs, and lit me up with the joy your comments always bring. I do believe I was blooming brighter than that poppy. :o)

Really impressed by the fine detail and extremely rich coloring of this work. Thumbs up!
