Description

Captured 4/29/15 @ 4:56 pm, a couple of blocks from home. For the purists out there, not only was this image highly postworked for contrast, it was also horizontally flipped 180 degrees for a more effective composition. And, yes, that is a dried out lawn, due to the drought and owner's negligence. Cheerybye.

So perfectly aligned with the sidewalk, it looks almost as if the concrete is etched with this flowing design. What a lovely capture!

With Denise, yes you aligned the shadows perfectly with the sidewalk. The top "spears" of the fence start where the sidewalk ends (their shadows do, that is). And the rest of the shadows are contained within the sidewalk proper. And your postwork makes this a wonderful abstract. Also, the curb is nearly flush with the top of the frame. And your tilt is just right, it brings out the patterns, and breaks our association with the more mundane facts of "sidewalk" and "shadow". Also, the dark on the left balances all the light in the rest of the shot. Fine abstract work, with real variety of lines and textures. The tilt was the perfect finishing touch.
