Description

Greeting Folks, On my last visit to the National Railway Museum, York, I wondered onto their viewing baloney (remember them?) and thought I'd snap a few moving train shots.. When... out of York Station came this! You are looking at for some reason as they are both under power, British Rail Class 31(Brush Type 2) 31190, which is normally undertakes charter trips nationwide.. The steam engine is a real surprise.. She is LNER Gresley K4 61994 The Great Marquess, designed by the man who did the same for 'The Mallard and The Flying Scotsman'.. Built in 1937 and based normally on The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, she often undertakes charters as well.. It was noted by me while their (and before), that the Deltics were gone.. Not surprising as I'd seen 4 over the last month working again on main lines.. Good to see but must take a camera with next time I go by rail.. More issues with Rendo, or more people gone it seems.. I know several of my chums have left now. I can't blame them, Rendo are to be frank, bollocks.. My ebots used to reach 150 in to 2 days now, its 4 to reach 60! So, crunch time.. The title may be a symbol of where I've reached.. There is of course my webpage.. I post there. I'll let you know of course.. Take care, those who see this. Rob

Super shot and what a stroke of luck. I too have noticed a sharp decline in numbers and occasionally I don't bother to upload.

Looks like typical 'Northern ' weather, but a great capture....Deltics back on the mainline...the kiss of death for the High Speed Rail Link.... Rendo seems only interested in vendors who are making them money...more than a little fed up myself....next stop Shutterfly...

Stunning image mate! These must be a dream to driver. Myself I'd love a go in an old BR Class 40, that would be a dream come true. My numbers have plummeted too so now I post for the 30 odd members who like them.

Great photo! At first I was wondering if the steam locomotive was pushing the other one towards some destination for delivery. More of these if you have them. I just don't understand what's meant by Rendo e-bots and what's going on. Could you educate me via a PM? :-)

What an amazing shot, Rob! Talk about timing being everything....... Lucky you, mate! :-D I think one of the comments bagginsbill left in one of the many threads regarding Rendo's incessant problems in the Community Forum hit the nail on the head: "Are you programming for failure?" Ever since that horrendous "Update" they did a couple years ago (remember that horrid color scheme they dumped on the galleries?), this site has been on a slow but steady decline. I used to get at least 2 pages of comments, frequently 3. Now, if I break one page, it's a rarity. I've noticed others' comments are way down, too. Faemike55 can't even get to the site. He can get to any other site, just not Renderosity. Last night, I gave up trying to catch up on comments, as it took 3 - 4 minutes for each page to load. My ebots are still at least a day behind, with some arriving as late as a week. They only come once a day, as a group, rather than immediately as they used to. Messages to Rendo's so-called Admins in the forum are a waste of time. The responses are infrequent, and when they come, it's always the same thing: "We're working on it" or as in the case of one of my messages, "We haven't heard of any problems.." I don't know if they're trying to commit cyber-suicide, but it makes you wonder. Do they really have their heads so far up their backsides that they can't see the declining numbers in the membership rolls? If they want to keep getting the profits from the marketplace they so desperately crave, they need to turn it around NOW, by fixing this site, then leaving it alone! Just bring back the old Renderosity! Sorry for the rant, but you touched a nerve, mate! :-P

I doubt that the site will end by any means but the commenting has been way down and less people posting. Bryce posted the other evening and she always gets lots of comments, but her post was up for more than 30 minutes with no comments. I was surprised that I was the first. the other evening also there was no gallery posts for nearly 3 hours
