Description
Hi there Folks,
I'm still here, not left yet lol
Been busy here I'm afraid, so just not able to clock on much.. Still barely any e-bots, so I guess most of those I used to get them from have given up and left or Rendo's still bust!
Onwards for those who can see this and are still here, this was shot at Brooklands (yes home of British Aircraft Building as well), the Concorde was partly designed here.. As was the bouncing bomb!
You are looking at G-BBDG, the very first production Concorde, also, the very first very Concorde to carry passengers at supersonic speed across the Atlantic.. (100 at twice the speed of sound).
Note : the Concorde at Duxford has just gone partially live..
Full shot will come soon along with full shot of The Mallard..
Enjoy
Rob
P.S. Comments on the way..

outstanding capture. I met one of the few pilots that flew the Concorde for Braniff. he volunteered at a local Frontier's of Flight Museum up until his death

Wow, what a great capture....one of the most beautiful, graceful aircraft ever developed. A shame and a wonder there are no supersonic passenger airplanes left flying. As someone said, " the first time man has moved backwards, with aircraft developement pushed back to 1968". Great news about the Duxford Concorde too.

Fab shot of a fab plane and a great shame it's not still in the air.

I love this plane, a shame it's not flying.

POV without parallel in this ultra cool shot of the beautiful SST at Heathrow, Rob.

What can you say mate... pure pride and just goes to show you what Britain and France can do when working together. The best ever !!!

The closest I've ever gotten to one despite all the flying I've done. But whenever a Concorde showed up, it was the immediate focus of attention. A most beautiful plane. And Boeing's plans for a US made Concorde came to naught - too expensive to design and build. Show what can be done with good cooperation across borders. Such a pity the oil crisis hit them hard (cost of fuel), then the damned PC politics (pollution, etc. arguments). More photos to come? :-) Drat! Rendo's still slow and messing with links to different pages! :-(

Wonderful my friend. I only saw the Concorde a few times in my life, and never got to fly on one. I love them though. I saw 4 lined up at Heathrow, about 6 in a row at Bahrain.........but my best view was being buzzed by one in Venice. That's my best memory!

Really love the POV here, Rob! Great shot of this historic plane! I'm still here, too, but only because of my friends here - the ones that are still here... Rendo is a joke anymore. My ebots arrive only a few at a time, and anywhere from 1 day to a week late. I've opted in to the "daily" digest, and even it comes two days late. I've given up reporting the multiplicity of issues in the forum because, frankly, I don't think anyone on the administrative side even pretends to give a damn anymore. If you're not a top-selling vendor, you don't matter. I wonder what would happen if everyone just stopped buying from the marketplace. I don't know how much longer I'll stick around..

Fantastic plane, the Concorde. Got to see one once, back in the 80's. It was shuttling Mitterand home to France from some conference in Ottawa and stopped to top up on fuel. Needed the whole 8,000' main runway to get airborne! Bunch of us at the local flying club watched from the club's tarmac, which was probably WAY too close. Concorde on full afterburner is painfully loud! And just was the pain fades, the exhaust cloud rolls over you. Loved every minute!
