Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Yes, a perfect eye and photo. Some very nice dig-a-fiddling too!

I tried to guess what it was but failed. Great digifiddle.

I love this. Naturally, with my mind working as it does, I immediately thought of an amoeba successfully getting through one of those mazes used to test the memories of lab rats, only there's no cheese involved. Of course, even without the lab rodent in a maze reference, this is a gorgeous digifiddle; I love it when you can take a photograph and actually turn it into a gorgeous abstract that shares a lot in common with doodles and other hand-made pieces of artwork, and what's even better is that this is a birthday dedication too! Yeah, this is brilliant on multiple levels; and I can see this hanging in a gallery somewhere.

You have a gift for these types of creative abstracts - this is another winner...

Done with your usual excellent fiddling and creativity this looks for all the world like an aerial view of a harbor with the orange being the water.

a real abstract, and so focused, as this bottle-top comes across as a large abstract, floating in a sea of black. It reminds me of the 1980s (in the art world). Wonderful use of deep orange, and some green. And your colonies of lines, etc, contrast with the almost bus-window appearance of the panes. I love how it floats in pure black "air". Wonderful dedi image, I love it. And I love the little triangle on the bottom...
