Description
How green was my valley.
Captured back on an overcast 5/29/09, during my first visit to the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
To be more specific, this is just one section of the beautifully maintained Chinese site in the Botanical Center.
The bridge, just one of several in my files, is bookended on both sides by fascinating Taihu Lake stones, and what appear to be weeping willow trees.
I visited the Huntington Gardens a total of five times during 2009, so rest assured that I have tons/tonnes of pictures from there.
And, how do you say, have a nice day, in Chinese?

What a wonderful picture, rather resembling the spirit of China. I have taken many pics like this on China. You should travel to China. You wont regret it.

Thanks, but I'm too rickety old and senile to do any lengthy travel.

Harry, this reminds me of a Chinese bridge I saw in Mexico City many years ago

What a beautiful bridge! These gardens seem much larger than our little garden here. Wonderful capture, Harry!

"Have a nice day," in Chinese, is: Zhù nǐ jīntiān yúkuài. (I looked that up. I have no clue how to pronounce it, but it beats "bye, y'all!") A beautiful shot, and very verdant, as someone above me said. The pic seems to slope, even though the trees and pagoda-like structures are all upright. What a fascinating perspective! And the water is beautifully green, with that bridge looking both small and intimate, and also very long and large. In one perspective, it could almost be a distant bridge to a huge castle---but it's way smaller than that. The people on the bridge give us the scale, well enough.) Your white sky is a perfect balance, too. Beautifully done, Harry. I loved it from the minute it went up. Beautiful water and background capture. (I've skipped several images to come to the first page of your gallery, so I can at least get a few more recent images. I'll go back, next time.)
