Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

So kind of the passer-by! Now we get to see both of you! What a surprise - I always interpreted durleybeachbum as a fellow! It must be the word bum that threw me completely! I often look at your posts but seldom have time to comment much on anyone's work. Love your avatar with the swimming dog. Keep up the good work! :-)

A lovely 'family' shot Andrea and nice to see you again.

What a good photo of the two of you, not bad for a passer by either, they usually don't have a clue, Missing paws, but what the heck, all around decent effort by you passer by!

BTW Audrey reminds me a little of Charlie drake, he had a sister who my mum worked with, and was the dead spit.

The Dynamic Duo! Great pic. Here is another 91 year super woman in which you might be interested: Barbara was hired at a top-notch design firm at 91. Here are 5 amazing things she's done so far. http://www.upworthy.com/barbara-was-hired-at-a-top-notch-design-firm-at-91-here-are-5-amazing-things-shes-done-so-far?c=upw1&u=459a61ca58f3e385daaad306df9b659e20f987a3 Read the story and then scroll to the bottom of the page to see the video.

I salute your friend Audrey and a fantastic 'family' photo to post on Mothers Day!

What a marvelous pic, and I'm with you in terms of these celebutantes that are famous and "heroic" for whatever trivial reasons the media can come up with; I do find it hilarious that the Kardashians are just 2 letters different from the bad guys in the Star Trek universe, and as a result of that, I do tend to call them the Cardassians, despite the fact that the fictional aliens (with impressive shoulders) are far more interesting and compelling than...um...whatever those sisters are. Anyway, enough of that! What an image! I like the sense of vibrant life in it. Sloe jam, eh? It's been ages since I've had any of that! I hope that I can live to be in my 90s, probably shamelessly photographing woodlice. This is marvelous and quite inspiring. I also love what you're wearing, and I have to say that Ralph looks...well...elegant and interested in whatever he's seeing behind his eyelids.

Fantastic shot of all of you; great that she stays so active, that's the key, I think!

Fabulous picture of you two and the pups, nice to see someone that active at her age. There is a women I see sometimes around here who still gets out and walks but has to use a walker to help her but she still gets out there and does it. I have been bad lately about not walking and I am now recovering from a hurt back but it did teach me one thing that I need to get back at being active in order to stay active.

Your portrait of Audrey is beautiful, you capture the very spirit you write of. I love the tilt of her head (i'm referring to the flickr version) and how that tree behind her frames her, like a halo. One can clearly see the difference between that shot and the one of both of you. It has fine clarity too, and I love the way the dogs look in it. The shot of both of you is joyous, nevertheless, and I love how rosie and fritz are looking anywhere but at the camera (fritz looks like he has something ulterior in mind, lol). And you glow. I love the scarf with that coat and pants. Wonderful portrait of that hero, and a terrific shot of you too.
