Description

Similar to a pic that I posted years ago, this one was captured 5/11/15 @ 8:51 am, in one of the alleys of our normally congenial condominium complex. A faucet/tap like this is installed on the outside between each garage for hosing down purposes, although rarely any of that going on anymore during our relentless drought. Have a nice day.

I love how the shadow seems to drip across the stucco texture with nothing to stop it. Great work, Harry!

a really fine texture, shadow, bleached light and object shot from you---at one with your best. The 'object' being that lone dry faucet, and also the highly "cascading-plaster" wall. Somehow, you caught the sense of drought with your harsh light, the desert-like feel of the wall, the irony of dripping plaster (in the top third) with no rain, the long drooping shadow (which denise pointed out), and the starkness of that unexpectedly complex spout, with the look of utter abandonment and dryness. A terrific shot, not only of the things we're looking at, but of drought itself. It's really a dry, desiccated image. And your crop allows nothing else in the image, allowing it's starkness to hit us flat in our faces. First rate work, Harry. A terrific capture. I'm at 65 minutes, so will have to stop for now. I did 9 images (all in a row!), which is pretty good for me, considering how slow I can be some days. And I didn't fav, only because fav's seemed to have been removed from RR, at least in the galleries I've checked (incl my own). But you know you'd get a bunch, and this would definitely be one of them. I'll be back for more soon...
