Description

Captured 5/10/15 @ 10:10 am, at the beautiful Fullerton Arboretum, adjacent to the beautiful California State University Fullerton campus, in beautiful Fullerton, California. With dappled shadows galore, just one of several benches of varying design at the arboretum. Although it may not show it, this is actually a color photo. Cheerybye.

It seems to be the same bench design as the benches at the arboretum here, I guess they used the same vendor. Wonderful capture of this beautifully weathered bench in the shade of the trees, Harry!

for some reason I'm going backwards from May 13th, step by step. I don't know why, but I'm on a roll, so I won't stop now. When this went up I was struck by the high key of the shot, even though it's not technically high key. What I mean is the strength of the light---it gives the shot a heavy in-your-face intensity, like a study of the molecular energies in the bench and its surroundings. And it renders this simple bench an electrified presence, with the shadows seeming equally electric. The shadows under the bench are dark, against that high light, and they seem to undulate as if they were alive. The angle is dramatic too, with a mound that "peaks" on the top of the image. Very alive. And another fine study of a bench from you---this one not so much about repose as about molecular dynamics. A very electrified shot, Harry.
