Description
Captured 3/21/12, standing on a bridge above a lake at the beautiful El Dorado Nature Center in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Okay, despite their reptilian elegance, no more pussy footing around with one and/or two turtles to a shot. Here is a SRO raft just stocked full of the docile red sliders, with carapaces aglow from the sun. Cheaper by the dozen.
The one on top thinks it's George Washington crossing the Potomac.
Ciao.

Hmmm, at that price better get out the tureen and the soup stock. Excellent shot.

They do seem to enjoy being all together on whatever they decide to perch upon, even on each other! Wonderful find and shot, Harry, and I'm honoured by the dedication!

Great job, Harry! They're not docile when my camera approaches.

lol on Washington crossing the potomac, he does look like a leader looking into thickets of the enemy. (There's a famous painting about that, right? This reminds me of it, even though I don't remember it very well.) Anyway, a wonderful group-shot of turtles sunning it up, with the usual way they pile on top of each other and crowd each other. (Pretty rude bunch...) And that little "island" surrounded by very green water is highlighted by your pov and your crop, and how the yellow of the wood stands out against the deep green. Another delightful "street shot" of animals, from you, a category you're pretty much dominating here. Delightful, very "turtle-y" shot.
