Description
There is no beauty without ugliness.
Yuck, and shades of Hieronymus Bosch in this image, captured off the front facade of a dental building, early on a dark and dreary 5/5/15 morning, about three-fourths of a mile from my serene sacrosanct.
If you're wondering what all this stuff is, it's a combination of fossilized brains, wormy bugs, eye of newt, intestines, spinal cords, and moss, among other arcane things. I may use it as a Halloween background when that cool day comes up.
Cheerybye.

While I want to go back to where I left off, I also want to comment on some of the images after that point, so you know I've been looking. I love this shot. It's one of the genuinely disgusting sights on RR, a deliciously awful collection of just what you described, with the expression "eye of newt" conjuring the 3 witches of Macbeth (actually, they were the "three weird sisters," which is even better), and all your descriptives are perfect for this lava spill of things that look like they oozed out of the primal ooze and then just froze. I can't imagine what this is. And why in the world is it anywhere near a "dental" office??? Not too alluring for a medical practice! Like, "what in the world are they DOING in there?" First shot gives us the perspective, and the second zeroes in. And---well, again, what IS all this?!? I love that you included a snippet of leaves on the bottom of number two, to remind us this really is a humanly inhabited place. Fine light, shade and definition; and just great that you had the guts to shoot it and take it seriously (for pov, settings, postwork, etc). Someone needed to say, to the dentists, "uh, docs? you might wanna clean up the entryway..." Terrific find, shot and treatment of the shot; and your title is spot on. (Harry, as of this moment, no one's fav's are showing up online---at least in my 2 browsers---so I have no idea if fav's will work. I've contacted RR about it. So know that your whole gallery is a fav for me, and if I wrote a fav for this, it would say something like, "great find and terrific treatment of a genuinely disgusting sight!")
