Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Looks like Ralph is guarding it pretty well.

I have to make sure that Jasmine & Truly don't pester Meadow, she savours her food & takes her time. Great captures.

LOL it's like this at house with the two cats ! The Black Bear will gobble hers and then chase Sassy away from her dish in order to get more ! Sassy uses her hunting instincts, surrounding and stalking her dish while Bear dives in like, (well like a Bear). Like you, one of us has to monitor, protect and allot out meal portions.

Very nice capture Andrea. Would Ralph become angry if the other dogs disturb him while eating?
durleybeachbum
No, he never loses his temper, he just let's them take it! He may sometimes give a little warning grumble, but they ignore him!

Delightful pictures Andrea! I like the second photo as it shows the intensity of the two watching Ralph eating his food

Ah, what's a family without sibling rivalry. I especially like the second image. It beautifully shows an example of the "doggie stare". You know, that intense gaze designed to, through sheer force of will, levitate the food out of the bowl and into their mouths.

Poor Ralphie! Good thing you're there to keep an eye on the others while he eats!

Nice shot Andrea.... been there, done that! One dog's bowl had to be put IN the closet and she would stare at us till we went away and she knew she wasn't being watched. :)

My boys do it different, they happily eat side by side, but when finished, they swap places to see if the other has left anything, really quite comical.

I like the photo with all 3 in there. Only having one dog at a time meant that meal time was easy!
