Melody went through her school years mostly as the unnoticed nerd girl of the class who never garnered a second look; and the one who didn't get asked to the prom. That didn't stop her from going though, either. Melody was usually seen wearing something that wasn't so form fitting, always had her hair pulled back into a ponytail, and traditionally didn't wear makeup. She didn't go to school to impress anyone; she was there to learn, and took the preparation for her future seriously, the time for impressing the boys would always come later. With that having been said, she didn't want to finish up the school year without letting all the boys who ignored her know what they missed out on. The evening of the prom, she let everyone know what laid beneath the bland exterior she had shown all throughout her years in school. She arrived fashionably late, and as she entered and walked across the floor towards the couples mingling in the center of the hall, everyone couldn't help but noticed this virtually unrecognizable girl walking towards them. She couldn't help but notice the eyes of all the boys focused on her, but she continued undeterred to her true friends, the other nerds. Melody didn't just open the eyes of all those who never gave her a second look, she also opened the eyes of those who knew her best. When the evening was over though, they all had enjoyed the best night of their young lives. Melody got to open up and let her friends see a side of her they never would have imagined existed; and they had gotten to dance with the hottest girl at the prom.
