Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Gulls. Pier posts. Gulls. I like gulls...and crows...and any other kind of bird prone to stealing your stuff. I like the mood of this shot too. Great composition.

A sweet capture and the gulls look happy!

an almost serene modern abstract of verticals, the horizontal of the water, and the sharp presence of 2 gulls to break up the geometries. You really got the skew of these sights, the serendipity of it all. Patterns by accident. And it's all you allowed to be in the shot, just the posts and the water and the 2 gulls. More fine water-shooting, Marilyn, a serene and yet complex pattern shot.
