Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Uh...just so you know,, I'm kinda leery of the second and third steps too! I have to say that this is a marvelous find! I love derelict things, especially when they're near water; there's just something about the mood that appeals to me. I like the vibe this one has.

I love Chip's, "Uh...just so you know,, I'm kinda leery of the second and third steps too!" And Denise's "Beautiful disrepair!" I'd say this pier had some structural flaws. Like, "ya ever consider carpeting???" I love not only the breaks in the original pier---this thing is in major need of repair!---but also the posts to either side of the pier, including the ones on the left with the cross beam. Not too functional, but it makes for a great sight. You're always so good a spotting and capturing these things. It has a beauty all its own in this shot, and it's such a 'total' sight. Wonderful capture.
