My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

A wonderful panoramic-style view (whether an actual panorama or standard format cropped narrow). Love the blue water, the purple-blue mountains & sky & the snaking road that leads my eye all the way across that bridge...

What a lovely view. I am a fan of the Columbia River Gorge. On the Oregon side I especially love the area around Multnomah Falls. Alas all my photos of that area are gone and I do not know if I will ever get there again. But I always love the photos I get to see of the Gorge. Thanks for posting this.

I love the curves in this: in the road, in the river, on the bridge...and the whole scene is so neat--not sterile--and crisp. There's a natural flow and rhythm to this, but it's structured: calm. It's a bit like that calmness you get in a puddle when there's just one leaf floating in it. There's no wind, not even a breeze, and so nothing makes ripples in the puddle. This image has that sort of calmness to it and I think it's brought out by the shapes. This is marvelous! I have to visit this spot and stand right there, just to see how it'll be different in all of those small ways. Brilliant!

The Columbia has become one of my most favorite rivers; I love seeing it in so many different ways. This is a view I haven't seen and it's gorgeous!!

Such a beautiful long view; I haven't been down that way in quite some time. Thanks for sharing this loveliness with those of us who don't get to travel much!

Tara, I didn't get an ebot for this (that's been happening a lot, and to others too), so I went to your gallery just in case, and I'm glad I did---I actually was about to run out, but when I saw this, I just had to comment the minute I saw it: It's a low lying beautiful sweep of a shot, with gentle tones throughout, no sense of the jagged nature of these land forms, but instead a sense of quiet sweep with the feeling that Chip describes---ie, of a puddle when there's just one leaf floating in it. The dark tones don't make it dark in feel, just restful and introspective. Your smooth blue sky and blue water and the blue mountains back there are beautiful. I'd like to say, with Marilyn, that this is one view I haven't seen---but I haven't seen ANY view of this river. And this view is beautiful. And that little peak in the bridge down there is like a little piece of jewelry to adorn the whole thing...beautiful work, and it's always great to see you here again...sorry I was so long in finding it!

This is such an amazing wide view, my friend. What great landscapes your USA has, for me it's almost unimaginable, as a 'normal Dutch girl'.
