Description
Captured 4/12/15 @ 11:55 am, at the once beautiful Descanso Gardens in beautiful La Canada Flintridge, California.
Seems like aeons since I last posted some pics from these Gardens. It was so dry out there.
There were four such structures in rather close proximity to each other. Come to think of it, this could almost be classified as a miniature arbor/pergola bench.

What a beautiful bench! Sad that the drought is threating the beautiful gardens; I hope they survive. Lovely capture, Harry!

it seems that the southern states through a bad pass ... climate drought, torrential rains, typhoons ... !!! this porch bench looks bleak with these flowers burned !!!

It may have been dry, but it's still a pretty little spot with a few flowers to stop and rest while on a stroll. Very nice, Harry.

Yes, this does look like a miniature pergola---it's most unusual for a bench. It's a little environment, and it's beautiful. This is another of your late morning shots---this one nearly noon: And it really shows. That intense overhead light (which I have a devil of a time with because of its obliterating intensity),,,but you caught it doing exactly what it does: lighting up everything intensely, and producing very etched shadows, esp beneath the bench. You caught a pure noon shot. I like your angle too. This is a real addition to your bench series, so 19th Century, almost. A very delicate capture, and intense from the time of day. (Harry, it's astonishing to say that we've had so much rain this April and May...it's astonishing that there's nothing we can do to move it your direction. It's hard to believe that, just half a country away, you're all living with this astonishing drought. Day after day, I've thought: Why is this water non-transferable? The drought of your area really shows, in shots like this. For all the lush light here, this is a very dry place. A fine, delicate capture nevertheless.)
