A warm summer night cast in moonlit shadows of lavender and blue you will find two wolf mates together their hearts forever true. Heart Of A Wolf 2 prose by Carol Cavalaris © Credits: Another in my Heart Of A Wolf series, from my Dream Catcher Collection, featuring two white wolf mates on a moonlit summer night, within a heart-shaped dream catcher. Created in Photoshop, using photo references, feathers by CWRW, dream catcher embellishments (modified) by pixels29, and painting techniques. Thanks to Ilona Krijgsman for the use of her wolf photos. Carol, this is easily one of the most lovely and expressive images I've seen in a long time. Fantastic work as only you can create.

In Heart of a Wolf 3 and 4, there's always a connection-point between the wolves, even if the pair are looking in different directions. The upper faces (ie, your more spirit-like faces in this series) will touch the bottom 2 at some point. That happens in this version too, only even more subtly. I assume the upper wolves are the same wolves, in your inner eye: We're just seeing them as an over-seeing spirit. (In mediation, one comes to know an inner self who is much more knowing than the outer self, and we realize the inner self is overseeing and protecting the outer...the same self, but two different perspectives. I've always had the feeling, in your animal portraits---where you have higher faces looking down on the lower faces---that the higher ones are that inner self, looking over and protecting the common/lower self...) Here, the two visceral wolves are looking to our right, but in slightly different directions; while a spirit face looks down on them, partially hidden but seeming to protect them. And they're all protected by the dreamcatcher. You have roaming---something so common to canines---but protection, all in the same image. They're kept in a "home place" by the dreamcatcher. Perhaps the d.catcher will go with them everywhere they roam... The wolves are articulated with rich flowing hair. And you've picked up that rich flow in the lower feathers: Those lower feathers are almost like fur, they're so thick! Beautiful, I love how you transformed them into "wolf" feathers (as if wolf had feathers instead of fur). The left-most wolf is in sync with the feathers and beads, in the way his/her legs move into the lines of the feathers and beads. And the 'spirit' wolf (above) is contained in the upper portion of the dream catcher. In other words, you've composed all the wolves with protection and harmony from the dreamcatcher. Beautiful blue on the blue feathers. And those center brooch-like elements---ie, the heart-shaped pendants at the top and bottom of the dreamcatcher---are bold accents against all that white and pale orange and purple in the wolves' fur. (And you have a paw in the center of those brooches...I assume a wolf's paw. I really like that.) The plants around it are a sea, but they become spindly branch-forms when they pass into the dreamcatcher (ie, the branches on the left and right of the dreamcatcher). And your sky is like an aurora borealis; while the image is speckled with lights everywhere---ie, little 'stars' that could be lightning bugs or some similar creature that emits light; or they could be just plain swirling orbs An enchanted, magical world in blues, purples, almost-brown purples, and whites. And those wolf eyes are luminous. These are luminous wolves. Beautiful; and a wonderful addition to this series, which is doused in a kind of gentle evening, or perhaps midnight sun feeling...and in which the dreamcatcher is a harmonizing resonating presence, which encircles the wolves and gives them protection and magic. It feels, in your images, like the "magic circle" of the ancient world, where once you stepped into it, you were called to retell the tales of your people, and channel the magic that was within them from the beginning. Very primal and affirming. And protective. Beautiful work once again, Carol. Peaceful and magical too.
