Description

A memorial to the Halifax Explosion which occurred on December 6th, 1917 when the French ammunition ship the "Mont-Blanc" collided with the Norwegian freighter "SS Imo" which was the largest non-nuclear man made explosion. Leveling the community of Richmond and killing over 1900 Halifax residents.The shock wave shattered windows at least 50 miles away.

Wow, 1900 dead...one hell of an explosion ! Great looking monument and capture, but can't get over that many people and lives this tragic must have affected. ~Cheers~
