let not an axe, nor chain saw,
touch that bough....
Captured back on 2/25/08, early in the am. under an overcast sky somewhere around the neighborhood.

I can't imagine trimming a tree so severely and having to look at that for a year till it sprouts new growth. But to each his own.

I hope the crew came back to finish the job. I can't imagine the poor tree surviving long without its leaves and an ample supply of branches to house them.

stark and fine work on these ultra contrast shots, with that white sky helping these appear almost as graphic prints. (Denise uses white that way too, in her studio shots.) And the rooflines beneath, so the tree soars above into that flat infinity. The two views of the tree show different colors too---the bottom one has more reddish tones---but both of them feel desert-like, parched and abandoned, in your treatment. And, in your treatment of the background, they stand out as gnarly bony tentacles from a very strange beast. You sure caught the stun of such a sight, and its arid exotic presence. Fine work on these, Harry!
