Traffic hell, but I think it's even worse up here! Great lighting in this excellent shot, Harry!

Nice sense of movement there. So you are an early riser when you take your walks! Nicely captured, Harry.

Great catch. If that's at dawn, I don't think I want to know what it's like at peak rush hour. Though, I had a manager who grew up in CA tell me where we tell people it's only 5 miles away, there they'd tell them how many hours it would take them to get to their destination.

Denise: "I think it's even worse up here!" Wow. I thought LA was only equaled by NYC and Chicago, for traffic jams. (Well, and Boston too---if you've never been there, it's all rotaries and insanity.) And yes, for dawn, that's quite a lotta traffic...Well there are those who say motion blurs aren't good subjects, but I say they can be wonderful when done right. I love the motion here, the blur of the lights as they approach the bottom of the frame, and how the cars further back are more focused. And the dark farming on the right (meaning the trees, abutment, etc, which are dark compared to the road and sky), and the whited out sky above. Has tonal drama, almost like a night scene in the day (because of the lights, reflections on the concrete, etc). A fine dramatic capture of urban traffic. And I really like the purplish-yellow tones from the lights. Always happy when you post shots like these, with traffic in motion...
