Description
Captured 4/22/15 @ 10:22 am, at the semi beautiful Descanso Gardens in beautiful La Canada/Flintridge, California.
Yes, nature stripped down to its bare essentials (although there may be a few benches in the distance), as revealed in this happy birthday dedication for our friend, Dave, aka magnus073. Hope I'm not late on this. Dave has been following and commenting on my stuff for years, and I truly appreciate it, in part because I can use all the support I can get. Have a scintillating BD, my friend!
And, it would have been nice if the whole area showed a deeper lush hue, ala the Great Northwest, but you humbly do with what is out there.
Arrivederci.

Beautiful photo! Such a gorgeous reflection in the still water too, quite peaceful and lovely. Well done!

I hope Dave got the ebot for this (if he doesn't see it in a day or two, I'll drop him a note): It's beautiful, Harry, and wholly deserved. He's one of the kindest and most loving people on the site; and, long after he stopped posting images, he still comes to your and other galleries each day, and leaves his kindness and embrace. The image is beautiful, even airy---unusual for a tree laden scene over water. It's delicate; and the composition (with the water opening up to us as it moves towards us) is beautiful. And man, we can really see the effect of your drought: The parched soil, and maybe even the yellowed hues in the leaves. It must be everywhere by now. But it's lush, Harry, maybe not like the Pacific Northwest, but it still has lushness and grace. A beautiful scintillating capture with beautiful reflections too. Happy Birthday Dave! A perfect dedi for our beloved friend.

Harry, let me say sorry for taking so long to respond to this thoughtful dedication. Honestly I couldn't think of a better present as there is nothing more beautiful than being out in nature and this scene looks like a place I'd very much like to spend some time. I can almost imagine myself perched on the bench across the way taking in the tranquil waters.

Its a lovely place for sure, and a fine dedication.. All is not as natural as it seems though, check the concrete on the edges of the pond on the left.. No pond life, or plants around the edges.. I suspect the pool wasn't there to begin with.. The birds must love it though! I would in the heat you have lol Cooling shot indeed! Rob
