Description

Captured back on 2/6/09, very early morning, at an intersection a couple of miles from home. The top original photo displays the relatively clean wet kind, the bottom depicts the deadly pea soup variety. Pea soup, or a pea souper, also known as a black fog or killer fog, is a thick and often yellowish, greenish, or blackish smog caused by air pollution that contains soot particulates and the poisonous gas sulfur dioxide. This very thick smog occurs in cities and is derived from the smoke given off by the burning of soft coal for home heating and in industrial processes. ......Wikipedia free encyclopedia. Have a nice day.

The fog on the picture below looks really very unhealthy. Fantastic shot and variations!

If I stepped out my door into that bottom one I believe I'd turn around and immediately go into the most interior room in the house and wrap a damp towel over my nose and mouth! Scary visual, and well done, Harry!

Good grief, I always thought they were kidding about "pea soup" fog. Amazing shot, but I'd sure hate to drive thru that.

Reminds me a bit of the previous winter. While snow isn't fog, it certainly does impact your visibility much the same way. Nice comparison between the two types.

real clarity and presence in one of the most difficult-to-capture phenomena: fog. (Nature's own Photoshop filter.) You got a genuinely clear flog shot. The upper one (I assume the lower one was postworked? since it's identical to the upper one, I assume you recreated the pea soup fog for us...besides, you wouldn't want to be out in it, breathing in all that smog)---the upper shot has a silvery patina, and it's beautiful. And the lower one feels under water. If that's what your bad smog days are like, my god---now I understand why they're so famous. (Wind, in chicago, helps alleviate such days.) The lower shot has real clarity too, and an eerie apocalyptic feel---I'm with Denise! You really did a fine job with this, Harry, the pics are so smooth and pictorial. Fine work on both images.
