Looking for sustenance, I suppose; wonder what there is to find in that dry and dusty spot? Excellent shot, Harry!!

Sort of reminds me of coworkers. LOL! Sad but true. Otherwise, this is an interesting photo illustrating the differences in the coloring and markings of these birds.

There must be something there hidden in the dirt that is of interest to them. Nice variety and colors on these pigeons Harry.

They appear to have found the perfect spot to search for food, Harry.

well Harry, I'll start with your most recent, and go backwards (rare for me), rather than start weeks ago and go forward. (Just to reverse the process for once.) A few people commented on the pigeons searching for food...well, when you're a bird, you take food wherever you can find it; and in cities---where humans leave food everywhere---birds are smart enough to know to look anywhere. So who can blame them. I love the array here, and even though they're "all over the place," you got a singular direction, in the angle from upper left to lower right. It's not just in the tree roots---a powerful 'director'---but in the wall behind it all, and in the general layout of the birds. Not an easy subject, but you got a real feel with it, esp with all that dry, dry soil. (Man---we have rain nearly everyday, here: I'd do anything to send it your way. It's just amazing how imbalanced nature can be.) A fine shot, with a delightful array of birds contrasted with that ultra dry landscape. Pigeons are related to doves (which you may know)---something pigeon haters might consider, the next time they're about to diss the poor maligned pigeon...
