Description
My second photographic cliche of the day. Multnomah Falls, located on the Columbia River Gorge is the tallest waterfall in Oregon, at 620 feet. I postworked it to try to give it a kind of antique, nostalgic look - sort of a cross between those old jungle movies & hand-tinted postcards...

Oh this is wonderful. I also love Multnomah falls...and this is super. When i was there the bridge was always covered with people which kind of distracted from the falls. this is an awesome shot. Furthermore the antiqueing effect is really cool. :) Thanks again.

Terrific photo, but I wouldn't cross that bridge if you doubled my pension!

Superb POV, lighting contrast, depth, and Jurassic Park ambiance in this stunning shot. What the heck, I wouldn't mind taking photos of the thundering falls from atop that bridge.

Wow! I'm jealous, nothing like that around here! (looks similar to one I saw somewhere in Mount Rainier Nat'l Park). Great shot!

yes, waterfalls are also subjects vulnerable to cliche. But I don't think you have to worry about any subject, given your eye and postwork, as you make everything come alive. I agree with the dreamy effect, and the treatment of the edges do make it like an old semi-decayed or faded photo. The top is like silk, and the waterfall feels like falling light. Or falling cream, maybe. Very sweet work with the surrounding trees---they're soft as moss, very touchable. Fine job with a tough subject. It's alive, antique, and oddly intimate. ("Oddly," because waterfalls are usually grand, but this, though grand, feels like a keepsake.)
