It seems the uprights have it in this capture of life in the urbs, Mark; a wonderful mix of shapes and shades that brings me right back to the ethos of city life. Well done!

the city is full of lines and right angles. nice shot of a city street in daylight when the world is awake and on the move.

fascinating split moment in time of a corner in some city, in this case, your city. Wonderful and interesting

I agree with Denise about the composition, and whatever you did to the colour is divine ! Urban lite as opposed to noir. Fab.

tantalizing vertical contrasts and play of light! love the rushing half-guy adding dynamics and extra mood in contrast the the general afternoon quietude of the context. great capture, Mark!

Mark, this is an amazing photo and another I'm so glad you shared with us this weekend. Bob makes a good point about so much going on and at the same time the pov of view you went with makes one feel like part of all the action. While I also was taken in by everything going on I was also fascinated by the building reflections in the vehicle windows.

OMG, shades of the narrow streets of Heidelberg, Germany brought up to date in this urban-point-counterpoint shot, Mark. The automobiles are dwarfed by the immensity of the buildings on each side of the street. I think I would experience severe claustrophobia walking down that narrow stretch. Lots going on in this grand scene, especially with the verticals of all shapes and sizes, plus the stellar low angle lighting/contrast effects, and feeling of hurry scurry. Artificiality brought to the Nth degree with all of that surrounding structure. I like the dude at the extreme right, seemingly headed for work with an intense expression on his face. I suppose I would have the same expression when surrounded by the noisy helter-skelter of the city. In any case, a masterful POV employed to showcase this small portion of Chicago.

The snow melts and the city comes to life with people growing like flowers in the sunshine. This captures that wonderful feeling of being able to go outside after a cold winter.

HEHE! I just LUV Harry´s comments. Nobody can say it, like he can. I wish I was just half as good as him in the art of commenting. This is such a busy shot and the tones are right in the eye for a hugs city as chicago. I dont know anybody but you, who uses this kind of composition with poles and containers cars, streets, trees and half a "dude" as Harry said. BUT! you can ALWAYS make it look just right. Love this shot. I guess I am just another cyper fan of your art. :)
