Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Great candid!

Musicians tend to be an odd bunch, especially drummers and tuba players. A wonderfully whimsical image what with Beaker. And there is Kermit just peeking over the fellow's cap.

LOL, that is so cool!

That is a great catch Marilyn. Thanks for the ID Mark - I had not noticed Kermit!

Maz! Glad to see you're still with us! Cool shot of the uncared for tuba and band players in this one. What a motley crew. The dreary ambiance seems to suggest a wake of some sort, perhaps in New Orleans?

Sweet capture - kool that the player likes Kermit and Beeker!

another true-to-life musician capture from you. Wonderful crop, so we get only their heads, and the big blowing cheeks of the tuba and clarinet players. (Ya ever blow a tuba??? I know, that sounded pornographic, but ya ever blow one? You need AIR, lady! You need BREATH. That guy's cheeks aren't NEARLY enough to get more than a grunt outa that monster. He must have real control...) Love how you cropped this, we're thrown right into the heads of the musician. And lemme tell ya, you don't wanna be the guy next to a tuba player---it's like working next to a 16 wheeler that just honked its horn. I love the open space above them, and the high light. And yeah, two great decals---never heard of "beeker" (though I think I'd like him, despite the fact that he's a weeeeeeee bit high strung), but I HAVE heard of Kermit. And I love that they're both on the bell of that monster horn. Wonderful!
