Description

I was sitting in my backyard watching the birds with camera in hand when my camera settled on the metal pole & handle of our patio table umbrella. I played around with it a little & came up with this, which is a bit different than my usual photography. It's good to try something new once in a while...

I agree with the above, it's one of your best, though I'd probably have to backtrack and add a lot of others. It's the kind of closeup that becomes a big overtaking abstract, though it feels like a very real object. Your bringing forth those deep reds---esp in spots along that black section (on the left)---makes this eerie and shining from within. The gold light behind the red "rod" (on the right) is wonderful contrast. This is an example of why closeups can be revelations. Terrific work---keep letting the little things of life grab you! When this went up, I thought that I couldn't think of a subject you couldn't turn into art. As an old poetry teacher said, "the poem is beneath your feet if you just bother to look..."
